“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the higher part of yourself when sometimes it becomes hidden to your own view”
– Oprah Winfrey
Whether you’re wanting a mentor or not, there’s always someone teaching us things. For anyone who seeks out mentors, it’s even better as you have some control over it.
Why is having a mentor important, even if you’re not ‘ready’ in your own eyes? I’m not here to sell these people to you, but to more so address that having a mentor or someone you look up to is important for every human being, no matter where you are in life or how far away you are from your goals. They are able to address issues that you may want to focus on and iron out any ‘problems’ you may have.
Since being a child we are taught by our parents, teachers, family members, religious figures and many other great people. This still resonates strongly with me, as I’m a strong believer that no matter where you are in your life, you will forever be a student in some aspect.
My current influencers/ mentors that I’ve chosen as of late are those that I’m doing courses with or reading books from. What does each one have to offer me? Read a bit more below:
JESS LIVELY
If you’re wanting to talk all about the soul and exploring within – Jess Lively is your girl! She has a podcast where she airs a show once a week. There are also courses you can do with her in regards to your intuition and consciousness. Jess has also recently started her own YouTube TV show in Detroit, that I’m sure will be a success. She’s the type of girl you’d want as a bestie. Have a listen to her audio series ‘A Lively Adventure’ – it’s hilarious and a great insight into what you could possibly do if you wanted to do a similar soul journey. Then there’s also her Intuitive Intensive Course that anyone would love if they are wanting to reconnect with their soul and make that connection stronger.
DR BEN LYNCH
I love everything Dr Ben Lynch has to say about Epigenetics and how by focusing on your lifestyle you can reduce anxiety, auto immunity, migraines and pretty much any stress induced illness. His book is called ‘Dirty Genes’ and it will help you ‘clean up’ your genes by focusing on your diet, exercise, sleep, toxins around you as well as stress reduction. In the book you’ll be given the ‘Clean Genes Protocol’ (a lifelong program) to keep your health optimized.
LEONIE DAWSON
Imagine having a Kookie Aunty that knew a whole lot about business, goal setting and just life in general – that will kind of sum up Leonie Dawson. Why have I chosen her as a mentor? Let’s take a look:
- She’s a happy business owner and Australian (always great to support a local!)
- She’s changed her career from Government worker to Author
- I could defs be her friend
- She sets realistic examples of what you should be doing within your business to see it grow
So let’s say she’s an overall winner in my eyes. I was lucky enough to just get into her Business and Life Academy before she shut it down. She’s currently focusing on her Workbooks and helping people publish their own books. Her Workbooks are the best goal setting Workbooks I’ve come across and makes it something that you’ll keep coming back to and to make sure you’re on track.
